Solid State Drive - SSD

Consumer Solid State Drives
RIDATA is a brand name self-established by RITEK in 2001. The brand name is derived from our enduring vision and values of offering the right technology at the right time by creating the right products for global consumers. Ritek has been proudly serving consumers for over 20 years by manufacturing high quality digital storage products. Ritek is continually raising the bar for high performance MLC Solid State Drives so consumers have an affordable choice for upgrading their HDD (hard disk drive) to benefit from the advantages of SSD: performance, speed, durability, no need for cooling and low power consumption (to list a few). Giving consumers the tools they need to access new technology and reap the benefits is our priority; that's why we offer a tutorial - one of many soon to come - on how you can upgrade your laptop at home with a RIDATA Ultra S Plus SSD.
Commercial/Industrial SSDs
The RIDATA SLC SSD has no moving parts, providing a noiseless environment and in-motion durability. NAND Flash offers profound transfer speeds and faster booting and access times. No moving parts eliminate many of the common mechanical failures users face with traditional hard drives. These benefits allow users to apply SLC SSD to a number of performance-driven and rugged environments ranging from everyday laptops to industrial, professional and military applications.

One of two types of chips are in SSDs that determine performance.
One is MLC (multi-level chips) and the other is SLC (single level chips). SLC provides a longer life span than MLC. Overall performance of SLC can fulfill most industrial and enterprise application requirements at an optimal level, whereas MLC SSD is preferred for mobile consumer products such as laptops, where durability and speed advantages are of the greatest benefit.

In 2009, RITEK will further enhance the capabilities of MLC SSD, but currently due to the limitations of MLC technology, we recommend using Ridata SLC SSDs on server applications, especially servers that require heavy writing.
